Wearing: 100% cotton button down in Maize, Red Conche Shell tie, Gray Old Navy slacks

Feeling: Like a Million Bucks

Listening: To my Friend Dale on the Radio in LA

Songwriting Dreamscape:

My wife is getting tickets for us to see Trans Siberian Express at The Fox Theater on New Year's Eve Eve (Dec. 30). That should be cool. A very big wall of sound from that group.
My new meds working good, no more horror lurking just outside my consciousness.

ReFi took care of a lot of debt, load lifted, me happy.

Still wishing my CD would impress someone in Nashville, would like to get a call from some songwriter's clan asking me up. I would jump on that like a jumpin' jack flash. Would love to devote full time to pickin' and grinnin' with the Taylor. The CD is making the circuit, so we'll see. You just never know when something clicks with an A&R guy and an artist. Maybe I'll post the CD on mp3.com this weekend. Time to go bye-bye.

Good Morning Bloggers! Accross sleepy national eyes climbs the sun, only a degree away from yesterday inching toward the Pacific coast, left handed playground, home broken hearts. We find our days bound each to each by natural piety. Moments like photographs are spread, circling, spiraling, touching edge to edge. If you look you'll see them clear. There is no death to fear.

My wife, whom I'm not supposed to talk about, is a big flirt. She works with all these guys and they are dropping lines like, "I'd do anything for you," and "whatever's mine is yours" and "Can I take you home with me?" But am I worried? Yes, somewhat. My wife is kind of sexy cute and I'm not! Yesterday I was shopping and almost bought her a three diamond ring.

I love watches, fashion watches. I like the red ones and the deep blue ones, black ones and grey ones too. I hope my wife gives me one for Christmas. If she doesn't, I'll just go buy one for myself. Something like a Fossil or Kenneth Cole or a Guess. I had a girl friend who had a Seiko. She loved it. I used to have a black face Citizen with a day/date window. I wore it till it fell apart. Back in 1972 I had one of the first digital watches ever sold in Columbia, South Carolina. It cost $95!!! Now they give them away at Burger King! Anyway, I got drunk one night on Boilermakers (half beer, half gin) and got in a fight with a speed limit sign. I hit it with my fist and the watch flew off and I was too drunk to find it on the ground. A South Carolina Highway Patrol unit observed my battle with the inanimate object and picked me up. What a mess. Technically I was Drunk and Disorderly, but I was not driving so no DUI. The cop was very nice and gave me a ride home.

Soon I'll post a story that includes links to my songs, or at least a snippets of the songs to help the narrative along. This is a project that I have been thinking about for about a year.

And this leads me to another concept: Manifesting. Manifesting is the process of turning thought into reality. A friend of mine said that 20 years ago it took months of focusing your mind and thoughts on an event or outcome in order for it to take root in future reality. Now it takes only 17 seconds of concentrated thought to start the wheels in motion. I firmly believe this is so. You will still have to do certain things, learn certain skills. But when it's time to actually make the effort, all the pieces of the puzzle will be there for you to carry through.

Heres the Music Store Psycho story: I recently visited MARS music superstore, now going out of business, and picked out a Musical Instrument Digital Interface unit (a 2X2) which would allow me to use my keyboard to it's fullest. I already had a 1X1 but I can only either put music into my computer for recording, or get music out... either play it or hear it not both at the same time. The Midiman 1X1, a $60 boondogle by Midisport, has remained unused. The 2X2, which is a bright red Fastlane, made by Mark of the Unicorn ("Excellent choice," said the young clerk) , will allow me to use this spiffy $250 software, Sonar by Cakewalk, that some one bootlegged for me. Now, if I could just keep the cats off the computer, a Compaq Presario, and stop the telemarketers from calling on myPanasonic Cordless, I could crank out some more music that noone seems to like but me! But as Billy Joel once said on The Innocent Man album,"no matter where you sleep, you wake up with yourself." Something like that.
So I recently paid off the MARS credit card from Conseco Finance, which they foolishly gave me when I bought the keyboard, a Casio 671. I had a friend who traded an Alverez Yari, an excellent guitar, for a Chevy van... or was that just a bad dream? I don't think Alverez makes the Yari anymore, only cheap ass guitars. A Gibson J-45, a decent guitar which use to cost $500 now costs $1800. The Martin D28, a fine guitar, which use to cost $2400 can now be had for $1800. Go figure. Now I'm rambling and you're reading real fast, hoping that I end soon. There was a guy in his 50's in the acoustic room with a Washburn, another cheap ass guitar, flailing away at "Hey Little Girl", a 60's tune by the Exciters or someone. I picked up a Taylor, absolutely the best guitar made, (I own one) and softly fingerpicked 'Richland Woman' but he continued to flail away and I couldn't hear myself. So I left.
