Ice Storm heading for Atlanta!!!That's what the weather heads are busy saying. The Weather Channel is the most alarmist, actually calling for a "Significant Event," suggesting residents go ahead and do their grocery shopping now! Some local stations are downplaying the chances, others are simply hedging their bets, remaining noncommittal. But TWC is literally in heat over the prospects! Check here to see who's won the Ice Prediction Lottery. If it really happens I'll post lacy icy filagree pix on Monday.
My good friend, the doctor (a phrase 'Tom Thumb's Blues' by Bob Dylan), is giving me amphetamines today. By the time you read this, I'll be speeding my brains out. I'll be up all night, continually flipping the remote. Later I'll lay in bed staring at the dark. I'll get back up and play some guitar, getting lost in the runs from one melody to another. I'll drink a little cola, eat a lot of ice. About 5AM I'll take some lorazapam and doze off, over sleeping, and dragging myself into work where I will take another amphetamine and start it all over again.
But actually it's better than the alternative universe that I have been living in for the past three weeks. Those mind trips have gotten real old. Playing reality/timing games against my self (and winning for a change) then slipping into deep psychic pain late at night (visuallizing being involoved in automobile accidents). The speed skips me out of those dvd's to a point where I can function a little better, get some work done at work, relax a little at home. Thanx, Doc.
I think I have lost a few more pounds...shirts fit a little better. Played some guitar this weekend, just sitting around late at night running riffs. It's a lot better than having to drop by guitar stores in order to play a little.
I took our a big 5' X 8' chunk of carpet and fitted in a nice area rug. The pet odor from the canine residents regularly marking thier territory, was overpowering. So I cut out a piece of the most stained and smelly area and the result was dramatic. I'm going to start making some more changes as well. I'm going to hang my guitar on the wall, add some greenery in some fung shwai places...things like that.
Same deal with the yard work. About a month from now will be time to prune, etc, spray 'Weed-B-Gone'. I can't seem to get into planting flowers though. Just something about getting down on my knees, bending over, digging in the dirt. I love the way that can dress up a mailbox, you know. Speaking of which I need a new one of those as well. That would be a great spring project. Let's see, dig out the old rotten post, put a a couple of inches of gravel for drainage, Quickcrete, then set the post, next day attach the box, plant some perrinials. Sound like a weekend to me, maybe late February, early March.
