A long time ago I was hitch-hiking across the country when luck landed me in Oklahoma City. I was picked by a not so bad looking cowgirl in a pick-up truck. She took me to her apartment...true story I tell you...and fixed me dinner (consisting of left over pot roast over rice...it was delish). We were talking about sex...I kid you not, this really happened to me!...and she told me about this guy she knew who was "Real Big." But she said it was "Too Big!" And that it hurt. She said she hoped that I wasn't "Too Big!" I swear to you this really happened. It was the night of the Miss America Padgent, 1971. We watched it together. She showed me that she had a tatoo on her thigh. It was the Coors Beer logo. We were careful not to wake her 6 month old who slept in the livingroom. That night I dreamt I was flying high over the city and could see all the lights winking at me. The next morning I hitch-hiked on down the road. Thirty some odd years later the incident is immortalized in one of my songs:
Sunburned Windburned, Month old child
Coors tattooed on your thigh
Couldn't wait to say Good bye
To Tulsa
Saw you sitting near
At the Rodeo last year
Had some things to say
But the words got in my way
Tulsa

Wearing:Blue pinstripe dress buttondown, grey cotton slacks, muted gold print tie, black hose, new Reeboks.
Listening to: Dave Brubeck, "Take Five" a jazz classic from 1962, stood the jazz world on it's ear with a staccato presentation of mulitple rhthyms. A perfect example of what has come to be known as 'Cool Jazz.' Definitly not Kenny Gee.
Goin' ta Florida
Got one foot out the door
I don' think I'm comin'
back no more.

Wearing: Black cotton pullover (it's cold down here) and tan polyester slacks, black Reeboks.
Going to Florida on Thursday, Me and the Wife will be Spring Breaking in San Destin at the Hilton Beach Resort and Spa. Hope to get mildly sunburned, shoulders and cheeks (face not ass) while pretty much vegging out on the sugary white beach. Wife plans to spend time at the Spa, I'm not much of a spa person. I plan to treat her to a make-over on Saturday then out for a gourmet sea food dinner that night. I'll be on my best romantic behaviour. If we weren't already married, I'd ask her to marry me! Then maybe a walk on the beach. Wow, What should I wear?! Khaki cotton slacks and a black tee with a tan check sport coat? Black Slacks and a red check Button down? The Burgundy pullover with the black Stripe? I'm at a loss! The restaurant is real dress up, so I guess I'll wear a tie. The jacket and tee is a little dated, kind of 80's. Kind of like Kevin Bacon in "Footloose" or Patrick Sweazy, or Don Johnson, yet I always liked that look. My son can pull that off. He looks a New York Italian hood though. The wife is bound to wear black, maybe with gauzey see-through around the shoulders and sleeves. She'll look tight with her honey blonde hair and heels. I don't want to look like I'm going to a business meeting. And the check shirts are too "business casual." Maybe I should ask George at the Men's Wear Outlet. I know, The black slacks, Maize cotton button down, the same tan jacket and a splash of color on the tie, maybe red. Hey, I know...Vote on your favorite outfit by adding a comment to this post.
