Not feeling well, overheated, tired, AC not working in the car. Atlanta summers are brutal, just starting this week. Many bills paid, several left to pay. You know, if it were not for my gambling problem, constant money problem, I would have absolutely nothing to worry about! I have a lovely wife, who loves and supports me, my mental health is so much better than it's ever been, my kids are all fine, not into drugs or jail. I have an ideal job. Lot's of things going for me. Yet money is a constant problem for us. What a waste!

Today was watershed. Won $250 on the illegal slot machines at the convenience store. I Put in only $5.00 and was betting $1.25 per roll, then won $50, upped my bet to $2.00 per roll, came up 777 which gave me $150 followed quickly by another $100 win and I cashed out. I'm a happy camper. I immediately had my oil changed and filled up on gas, which my car badly needed. Also set an appt. to get the AC fixed on the car for Thursday. I have an appt. with my therapist on Wednesday, appt. with the Head Dr. on Friday and a neuropthomologist on Monday ('There's a little black spot on my eye today, same ole thing as yesterday').
GeeTaw Talk: Played a used rosewood Larrivee, cost close to $1200, thought about trading in my Taylor 510 but after playing the Larrivee I realized although it was prettier, it didn't sound better. So why go through the hassle and extra money. Would have cost me about $300 more. Played with steel finger picks and thumbpick at the Joyful Celebration last week. The Taylor was so loud I couldn't even hear my self sing. Jammed with Lori Dunn playing a jumbo Guild Sunburst with outstanding Mother of Pearl inlay. Also a fiddle player (lost his name). That was fun. Did some knock out blues. I was interviewed by a reporter for the local paper, ended up quoting me in the article about the Joyful closing. That was cool too. I gave him an earful. Dale, good friend and part owner of the now defunct Joyful Alternative, grimmaced as he saw the reporter approach me with my rambling tales of psychotic late night adventures inside the creakey old Joyful. I especially remember how the cockroaches use to make squeaky noises as they chewed on my cigerette filters. The newspaper didn't print this bit of Joyful history.
Thinking about changing jobs. Maybe move to DC, work for the National Archives. The Boy will sell Charlie's (deceased Grandfather) house, we'll sell ours, we'll all move to Maryland and start anew! Actually would rather move to Tampa/St. Pete but no jobs that I know of there. We're getting kind of tired of the same ole, same ole here. Deb and I are adventuring souls. Learned about a job in Chicago that paid 6 figures for Records Manager but doubt if I'll get that one. I'll give it a shot though, see what sticks.
