I had the oil changed yesterday, also a vehicle inspection. Today I'll try to get my car registered, then next week my Texas drivers license. Then I'll be official, legal, bonified even.
I had fruit for breakfast this morning, the strawberries were huge from Mexico but not very sweet. The melon was much better. I absolutely love watermellon, maybe because I don't eat it very often (so messy). Friday is casual day, of course, only where I work that means no tie. Everything else is pretty much the same: Collared shirt, dress slacks, sports jacket. We're all pretty juanti' around here.
Friday with money in the bank. Life hasn't been this good in months. I left my cell at home, so don't call!

I need a sofa! Mike and his wife Janice have given me a bed with practically new mattress, and a book case head board. But to watch tv I have to put the tv on the headboard, and lay at the end of the bed looking up. So now I eat in the bed, watch tv in the bed, rough-house with the dog in the bed, sleep in the bed. I would like to get out of the bedroom! So a simple sofa and tv stand would get me started. I've been going to furniture stores, looking at pieces which are obviously beyond my budget and being disheartened. So far the cheapest are at Big Lots for about $400 but by the time you add tax ($50) and delivery ($50) you bump the price up there again. Sooo, next I look at used furniture at Goodwill, etc. There are some deals out there but very hit and miss. You have to be ready to buy at that moment and have delivery arranged on your own. That's a little hard for me (no truck. I would have to arrange for a friend to help me which could be done, just not on the spur of the moment). Then there's Ikea. Very interesting contemorary, Scandinavian furnishings at excellent prices. The rub: You do the assembly! Me, all thumbs with just a screwdriver, assemble a sofa???!!! No way! But my friend Mike is an engineer, a mechanical genius. I could have him come down and give me a hand. Right now that's the best alternative. Still playing guitar but right now, no plans to buy. First things first. Work is going well, the learning curve is pretty steep but things are slowly falling into place. Weekend coming and I still have money in the bank. No plans yet. Oil change, that kind of thing.
