A fresh round of Adderallin my system, I'm off to join the work-a-day world. A few more months of this and I'll be out of here, off to L freakin' A maybe, join Dale in Burbank. Together we'll spend my $35,000 till we're broke. Take the five to Oxnard and date some suburbanites, sit out on their covered patio and eat chargrilled brisket, relaxing in the cool evening. Maybe play a little guitar, drink a little Merlot, make a little love. Ahh the retired life. And when the money runs out, I might get a Library job at one of the Cal States in the area. That plus my retirement money should keep me alive and well for a few.
I need to trim the action on my Larrivee. I still visit Guitar Center on my lunch hour, play for about ten minutes, enough every day to keep in shape. I have been a guitar player for 40 years. Neither carpel tunnel syndrome, nor torn rotator cuff, nor complaints from various wives will keep me from playing acoustic blues. I may even throw in a few 1920's jug band numbers to keep myself honest. And, when no one is listening, a little Beatles.
